Volunteer Program

Program Description

  • Volunteers can perform any job that does not require working alone with students. Note: If volunteers plan to work alone with one or more students, they must agree to a complete criminal background check to be conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Inquire with the campus Volunteer Coordinator for more details.)
  • Volunteers will be required to show a government-issued ID each time they visit.
  • Volunteers will be required to sign the Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement each school year.
  • Volunteer opportunities are available as soon as the campus is ready to receive assistance.

Lake Travis Elementary Volunteer Programs

 

1 PTA (Parent Teacher Association) → Volunteer opportunities every Tuesday and for special events and school celebrations. Visit  www.ltepta.org to join and sign up for more opportunities 

 

2 Library → For volunteer opportunities at the Library, please email Mrs. Shannon shannonm@ltisdschools.org

 

3 Classroom → Upon request for special events and classroom parties. Contact your teacher for open opportunities. 

 

4 Literacy Partner → 30 minute - 1 hour weekly commitment to serve from October to May for one on one reading sessions. Register at www.Education-connection.org

 

5 LTE Mentor Me program → Adult volunteers that work with one student throughout the course of the school year for 30 - 45 minutes at least twice a month on campus during lunch time. Mentors must agree to complete a criminal background check by the Texas Department of Public Safety. For enrolling contact GW Saumers SaumersG@ltisdschools.org

 

 

6 LTE Squire Dads → Help build stronger connections between school, family and community by being a Squire Dad.  Activities can include monitoring hallways, playground, cafeteria, and assisting with diverse office duties.
